it was amazing
bookshelves: space-opera, kitty-cats-with-laser-guns

Novels featuring anthropomorphic cats form a genre unto itself in science fiction. It seems unfair to lump "The Pride of Chanur" in with the others, as it would be far and away the best.
Cherryh creates a compelling new world and makes it prosaic and believable. The alien societies of the kif and hani are meticulously worked out and demonstrated in subtle detail, and the workings of these societies drive the plot of the book, frequently taking it in unexpected directions.
