it was ok

I enjoyed this book, as I enjoyed its predecessor "Pillars of the Earth" but both books had a curiously flat, cartoonish quality. The plots were engaging and intricate and the characters were colorful, but lacked depth and nuance. Despite taking place some generations later than "Pillars of the Earth," the cast of characters in "World with out End" seemed almost identical -- just a few details rearranged here and there. I was very engaged reading it, but after getting through all ~1000 pages I felt a bit let down and unsatisfied.
