Elnora was a whiny, self absorbed priss and I just don't understand why everyone around her adored her so. Points for her stubbornness and ambitions, but meh on personality. The nature stuff was pretty interesting, as was her mother's plight; the time skips and sudden switch to Edith's story were jarring. Better than Rebecca and Pollyanna, neither of whom I can stand, but give me Anne any day. Read online via Gutenberg.
