really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy

I really enjoyed how honestly LeGuin portrayed her hero. She was unflinching in showing his pride and his immaturity at the beginning of the book, and therefore it came across more honestly when he overcame those things by the end.

This book seemed to be much more of an inward journey than many books in the genre. While Ged did travel around his world, that wasn't the focus of the story--as in so many other books. Instead, the story focused more on Ged's journey and progress as he learned to overcome his weaknesses and face his demons.
