summary: a mormon housewife strikes up a friendship with a movie star while on a trip to LA. chaos ensues. (i love shannon hale, and this is her new one so I had to read it)

I am so torn over this book.

1) it's worth reading, there are actually a lot of thought provoking issues presented. it's more serious than her last chicklit, austenland, I think.
2) the first section is cringeworthy. cheesetastic. dialogue I couldn't imagine happening in anyone's version of reality.
3) the middle is good. let's just say last night after I finished reading it I just stared at all of my kids for an extra moment or two and just loved them.
4) the ending feels forced to me. I usually like twists or endings that are unexpected, but this twist was too forced for me. I don't buy the reasons the main character gives for how it ends.

So after you read it, give me a call.
