really liked it
Read in June, 2009

A book I had heard nothing about, really liking it so far.
This was a fun, funny at times, sweet book. Primarily about 2 sisters(there are 3) growing up in the "50's.
The books shows in clever ways how children make meanings for word's and stories they hear, and how these interpretation's are both near and far from the literal truth.
These little girls were growing up in Milwaukee, having to move to the city after their daddy's death
It showed a lot of what we think of as the innocense of that time, and also, how the 50's were NOT nearly as innocent as many people like to think.
There is even a murder
mystery to ponder!
I hated to see this book end.
