really liked it
bookshelves: 2009, pnr, shifters

This was classic Feehan. I liked the book. When you started out reading you instantly feel sorry for Jake and the way he was brought up. Some people should just be spaded and neutered at puberty. He was handed a raw deal, and dealt with it the only way he knew how. Somehow he managed to learn right from wrong and not become like the people who raised him. I loved watching him interact with Emma and slowly start to learn how people really are. The initial scenes with Kyle as a baby were funny, because we all know men that are like that. Watching a big he-man type muddle through diapers and just holding babies are great fun. I also like Emma coming to terms with her feeling for Jake. Her secret, while interesting, you knew was coming. Was glad to see the enemies get theirs in the end and Jake and Emma dealing with the leopards. On a side note it was fun to see the leopards come from SA to work for Jake, and their interaction with the family. And as always some really steamy sex scenes!!
