** spoiler alert ** A book about the movement by a thieving crew to free the enslaved Skaa people on a ruined planet. The book is told from two perspectives Kelsier, a charismatic thief who escaped the death sentence of the Lord Ruler and came into the incredible powers of the Mistborn, and Vin, an abused and hopeless thief who learns in the course of the novel that she too has these powers.

I wasn't crazy about Vin, upon whom the book focuses, and I feel a little guilty about it since she's the only good, strong, female main character. The rest of the crew, I loved, particularly Ham and Sazed. I thought the ending was very good as far as taking on the bad guy, but I'm not so sure about the manipulating people by making yourself into a religious icon thing.
