it was amazing
bookshelves: young-adult, fantasy

This book has Tamora Pierce writing at her best. It is well written (although all the slang gets a bit annoying) and keeps you gripped, not wanting to put it down.
Beka is back, this time as a fully fledged dog, and she travels to the city of Port Caynn in search of a counterfeit money ring, and while there she has many thrilling adventures. I enjoyed this installment more than Terrier, the first book in the Beka Cooper trilogy.
Highly recommended to all Tamora Pierce fans and anyone who enjoys fantasy books with strong and likeable heroines. I can't wait until the next in the series comes out!
