In book #1 of this new series, Jonah Stone and his sister and brother discover that they are one-quarter angel. Their mother is a nephilim, one-half angel. They had to rescue their mother and the other nephilim from the forces of the Fallen Angels, and in the process, they learned that they have some serious weapons in the battle between good and evil.

As this story opens, it has been a year since that battle. Things have been quiet for the Stones. Then, one day they are all attacked at their school and have to flee. Their guardian angels take them to a sanctuary in New York City, where they find that all of the quarterlings were attacked. The only way to stay safe is to separate them from their parents and begin to train them in their unique angelic gifts. As the training begins, Jonah starts to have dreams/visions of a mysterious prisoner held by the Fallen Angels, one who may hold the key to victory or defeat in the massive battle between good and evil that is to come.

For those looking for a Christian alternative to the Percy Jackson series, this is a good starting place. Plenty of adventure and excitment. There is also encouragement for teens to study their Bibles, pray, and rely upon God. Each of the angelic weapons have a Biblical basis, such as the Shield of Faith. A good read.
