I was looking forward to reading this book because I had loved "The Book of Lost Things", but "The Reapers" could have been written by a completely different person. I guess that can be both good and bad... Good because it shows the writer's versatility and bad because you are greeted by a whole other being. That being said, here's my review on the book:
It took a while for it to start and grab my attention; maybe around page 230 it took off. I didn't love the main characters and, in fact, found them pretty disturbing. I thought the author repeated himself in various occasions and that frustrated me. When the story finally evolved, it got pretty good, but undeserving of a 5 star. I guess I'm giving it a 3 because I loved that other book I mentioned. I will read "The Lovers" though, which is the sequel to this one, in hopes that it gets better.
