it was amazing
bookshelves: beloved-classics, book-club-books

Before I start reading a classic, I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that I'm slowing down. When I first opened this book, it read so slowly (yet beautifully) but still, slowly. There are characters I'm not sure are important (they were) and things that happened that didn't seem that important (they were) until the last fourth of the novel where everything and everyone comes together and it ends in pure magic, with my heart racing and I can't shut the book until I finish. Quite a difference from the beginning when I couldn't quite keep my eyes open. I really enjoyed this one and have to put it up there with my favorite classics of all time.
