really liked it

Erg. I am done with the series, and I have to say that I feel a bit of grief, as though a good friend had moved far, far away, and contact will be tenuous and intermittent instead of constant and local. Ahhhh. I was so bereft -- for almost a week after I finished the book, I read nothing else at night, which is kind of amazing.

Regardless, this one was strong and touching, and I loved it as much as any of the others. I cannot get over what Gabaldon puts her characters through, and yet I love watching them survive, and I love catching myself analyzing their personalities to make sure that everything still rings true. I stayed up late one night finishing it when I really should have been sleeping. My one consolation is that Gabaldon is writing another (perhaps two!) and I will get my fix come September.
