it was amazing
Read in January, 1993

The bleakest comedy I have ever read. Unfortunately, most publishers leave out the second half of the title "The Misfortune Of Virtue" Without which this book reads for shock value rather than vile humor. The description of deprived sexual treatment of Justine is not only to show you how kinky it's author was, but rather the danger in the absolute belief in an idea. I'm not sure if this book reads best as a metaphor for the values of the United States, or as a statement that we are all whores. All I know is my life is better for reading this book.
