What a great idea to retell the classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz from the point of view of the wicked witch! I loved that you actually get the whole life of the witch and not just the parts from the original. When you finally meet Dorothy I'd completely forgotten she was supposed to be the bad guy. Gregory Maguire does an awesome job of making you sympathise with the witch. I kept hoping things wouldn't turn out quite the way they did for the witch in the original.
