it was amazing

I had to drive to the airport the other day. It's a 40 minutes drive from my home through the mountains of my island across hills silver with olive trees and verdant with vinyards dotted here and there with the sober lances of cypresses. Almost throughout the drive under the harsh afternoon sunlight I was reliving inside my head the scenes from this book which I had reluctantly just closed in order to leave the house. Even this most vivid scenery failed to distract me from the world I had been living in while reading this book. I was gripped by Ms Ward's writing so strongly I almost felt displaced as I realised that I was driving along without really paying attention to my surroundings. That is a sure sign of great storytelling for me. She has made me believe in her world and characters no matter how far fetched they may be.
Now many of my friends here in goodreads have complained that there is not enough romance in this book. This is very true. But by now I know better than to expect something specific from this writer. She has surprised me time and again and is forever going off on a new tangent in her storytelling. I really loved this book. But this is greatly due to the fact that I did not approach it expecting a PNR. I am far more interested in the Urban Fantasy aspect of this series than in the individual romances. I just love to see all those (side?) stories unfolding and anticipating the next surprise that she is keeping for her readers. In short book by book this series goes further away from the romance and is more and more about the Brotherhood as a whole than about idividual couples. But that's quite alright with me :) As long as she produces storytelling of this depth and scope , you won't hear any complaints

Auntee How true, Stamatia. Ward is an awesome storyteller, so much so that I didn't mind that it wasn't heavy on the romance.:) I loved this book too.:)
