This is the memoir of Walter Dean Myers, a young man that grew up in Harlem but was different from his peers. He was smart, and he liked reading and writing. He has written several books for young people.
I really liked this book--it was very entertaining even as it is instructive to those who work with kids! As a teacher,it gave me a lot to think about concerning the effect teachers have on students.
I would highly recommend this book for people who plan to work with kids or who do already work with kids. I think people who have been teaching a long time and are very routine in their teaching should read this book.
Another group of people that should read this book is people that are different from their peers in some way.
Anyone that just likes an interesting story would enjoy this.
