really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, fiction

I've finished this book, but I need time to digest it a bit before I write a review...

I'm still not sure what to write about this book. It's randomness heaped upon randomness that somehow comes together into a (slightly) coherent and intelligent stream of thought by the end. One of the things I loved about the book is that it constantly surprised me. Whenever I thought I had gotten a grasp on what was going on, the plot would veer off in a completely different direction. Admittedly, it is also crude, and at times outright vulgar, but stuff like that doesn't turn me off from a story. This is my first foray into Palahniuk and I think I may be hooked on his style. It's different, and while I may have spent a large portion of the book utterly confused, I fel like it provided a good amount of mental intrigue and insight.
