I'm giving this a grudging 3 stars because I think it has a fairly good argument that a lot of people probably need to hear, because the last two chapters had a few good parts that helped redeem the book for me (even as other parts of those same chapters produced more of a face-palm response), and because Goodreads won't let me give it 2.5 stars. My actual reading experience hovered around 2 stars, with definite 1-star moments where I wanted to throw it at the wall and scream "YOU SAID THAT ALREADY!!!!!!"

If the above doesn't make it obvious, this book is extremely repetitive. I think Wright has material for a good, solid, tightly-argued 25-30 page article in here. Maybe enough for a slim volume, say, 70-90 pages. Instead, this is a 300 page book that says the same things over and over and over and...you get the idea. Based on the other reviews on here, most people don't seem to have felt this way; the repetitiveness might have been accentuated in my experience because I was reading this for class and had to write chapter summaries.

All that to say, Wright makes some good points here in a fairly accessible way. Just don't be afraid to skim.
