it was amazing
bookshelves: 2014-debut, middle-grade

THE LOST PLANET is non-stop, life-or-death action. I ripped through this book, because I could not stop turning pages. Any time I thought ‘whew! I can finally take a breath!’ the characters were dumped into another pot of boiling lava from which there was no escape. But don’t think for a second that characterization is sacrificed on the altar of the constantly driving plot. Each of the characters are fully fleshed-out, complicated people with motivations and flaws that come screaming to the forefront any time there’s a twist in the story (and there are too many twists in the story to count!). It’s an MG novel with a crazy amount of crossover appeal. I’m 36, and I was on the edge of my seat through the entire thing!
