it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, sci-fi

Sort of a cross between "1984" and "I, Robot" and incredibly hard to put down. In this story, an intelligent young student named Anaximander is taking an intense four hour oral exam, in order to gain entrance to the prestigious Academy. Through her dialogue, we hear about the decay of modern society, the creation of an island utopia, the rise of a revolutionary hero and the introduction of advanced robotics. Since it's only 150 pages, I'm tempted to read it again. I think it's a good book to recommend to someone who has never read science fiction.
