3.5 stars. I'm bumping this up to 4 since a week later I am still thinking about the characters.

This was a good book. My only complaints have to do with writing style, pacing, etc... I thought the POV changes were hard to follow sometimes.

I like the characters and how the story was adapted to modern day. I could easily see this being made into a movie. I also thought it was nice how God and Church were woven into the story. It didn't feel forced. There is no doubt that the main characters in this book have a strong faith in the sovereignty of God even while daily living has its ups and downs.

This is the first book in a series but I had to get it on Interlibrary loan, which means it might be a while before I can read the rest of the books.
