really liked it

I really enjoyed Jacobs exploration of the minutiae of the Good Book. I appreciated especially his consultations with biblical scholars about passages that aren´t so very clear, and I was pleased to read about opposing view points within the same religion. This entertaining book manages in its small way to bring religion back down to earth by exposing some of its contradictions and by exploring the Bible's seemingly bizarre dictates (especially in the OT). In the end, reading this brought me closer to the conclusion that perhaps the best way to know God/Goddess/Higher Power/The Almighty/Etc. is through one's personal quest rather than through an institution.
