it was amazing

Wonderful story, impeccably told, richly written without being dense, descriptive without being pedantic. The blessings and curses of family, chasing the ghosts of the past, struggling to make sense of the present, coming of age but at least fifteen years later than most people usually do - these are just a few of the themes that Morrison delivers in scene after memorable scene. This is the first book I've read in a long time that I wanted to keep reading and reading, and that I read with only rare glances at page numbers or my watch. My first Morrison but certainly not my last.
