it was amazing
bookshelves: 2009, 1001, belong-to-the-land, novel, favorites

I didn't know what I felt about this book until the last twenty pages - I wasn't getting it - what's Willa Cather going on about? I love her writing, and here she treats us to descriptions of New Mexico that touch the soul, but it just seemed like "a bunch of stuff that happened."

Man, the last twenty pages sing. Love this book. The titular professor comes together. I get him completely, and I like him. One of the best character portraits ever.
