really liked it
bookshelves: first-reads, fiction
Read in May, 2009 — I own a copy

Since I enjoy chicklit every now and then, Emily Giffin had come up as a prospective author. What kept me from reading this book until now? The cover. Everyone knows we judge books by their covers. It really gave me the wrong idea of what this book was about. I am glad I won a copy and finally read it.

This would be a great book for anyone who has ever judged someone for having an affair. The protagonist is the one who "turns on her best friend". The reader, of course, identifies and sympathizes with her. Things begin to slowly unfold and it becomes clear that there is much more to the situation than you could have imagined.

The writing was great and I didn't want to put it down. Something Blue is on my list to read next...
