Moore takes Shakespearian drama to a level unknown before. You'll have to decide for yourself what that level is. Did he elevate the art form or did he drag it down? It's all a matter of perspective and Moore's perspective is nothing if not entertaining and often hilarious. Any book that utilizes the word twatgoblin deserves some sort of special consideration. Moore has certainly rewritten Olde English. The reader is forewarned that this is a bawdy tale and if you aren't up to it, to basically drive by. As a few other people have mentioned, this may not be Moore's best work, but even less than best Moore, is better than a lot of other's best. Given that Moore makes even the footnotes in this book readable and enjoyable, you have to appreciate what he's done. 3 and 3/4 stars.
