It's 1907 in bitterly cold rural Wisconsin where much is miserable most of the time. Ralph Truitt, a wealthy yet despised businessman who is haunted by his depraved past and hoping for another chance, places a newspaper ad for a simple, honest, reliable wife. He realizes right away that the woman he has chosen is deceitful, yet he marries her anyway. Is there any room for hope and happiness amongst such despair and duplicity? You'll be flipping the pages to find out in this very suspenseful, surprising, and beautifully written psychodrama. (Susan R., Reader's Services)

Rebecca I'm in to contemporary settings lately but the "surprising" and "beautifully written" have piqued my interest. I favor writers who are good at dialogue (rather than storytelling) so will check to see if it's got lots of dialogue.
