For a memoir, I have to admit that this wasn't a bad attempt. While I was not partial to the story I feel that she expressed the story of her childhood very well. Her story is one that you will not soon forget. Between her shameless father and mentaly absent mother, you get a horrific picture of her and her siblings lives growing up. While you see some of the good points of her upbringing you are also unapologeticaly told the truth about her parents. You almost have a have a hard time reading just how matter of factly she talks of situations that would be unimmaginabal to most. While she is no master of her craft, the glass castle is worth the time to read.
