One of the few Heinlein books that I do not own a copy of. So it's generally fresh when I check it out of the library. A little out of the Heinlein mainstream. The protagonist is meant to be a modern-day Job, suffering through multiple universes (or maybe not) and general befuddlement. Ending with a Sunday-go-to-meeting, when-the-rapture-comes denouement that to me is ultimately unbelievable ... even for science fiction. Not Heinlein's best effort, in my estimation, but an ok rainy-day read.
