This book started out strong. I enjoyed getting to know Charlie and the wonderful dog, Radar. I also enjoyed Charlie's relationship with Mr. Bowditch. I was flying through the book up until the halfway point. At that point, Charlie enters another world. This is very much a fairy tale kingdom (hence the book's title). I like fairy tales, but the ones I'm familiar with are pretty short. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not big into fantasy, whether books, TV shows, or movies. The last half of this book was a little too much fantasy-land for me. I am a Stephen King fan, but a fan of his supernatural work rather than fantasy. I do appreciate the spin he put on the Jack and the Beanstalk tale.
