really liked it
Recommended for: Anyone who likes fiction, really.

I really enjoyed this book. I can't stand the circus, but it's really interesting to read about the experiences of people working for train carnivals during the depression.

I really thought the author did a fabulous job of capturing life in a nursing home. The gross food, smells, the lonliness. The main character, Jacob is so well identified, not only as a 93 year old, but as a 23 year old in the carnival. There were many times in the book that my eyes were tearing, and I can't stand when that happens on BART, but you never know when that will happen.

I HIGHLY recommend it.
