Part of my Sookie Stackhouse Marathon. As vampires go, I like Eric better than Bill, but in general, I like Eric better without his memory and bravado.

Again, some refreshing elements in the paranormal sphere. Maybe a little more gore than I needed, but if I can skip over the overdone sex scenes in other books, I can certainly skim the violence/gore bits so they don't leave lingering impressions in my poor little brain.

The thing I like about Sookie is that she's a down-home kind of girl, who just happens to have telepathy. She works, pays her bills, and worries about making her property taxes or if she can afford a new coat. And she'll help someone in need, even if that needy creature is a blood-sucking vampire.

On to the next book.
