Whatever, I'm bumping this one up to five stars, because I had forgotten how very much I enjoy it. In this book Vicky meets the suave and sarcastic Sir John Smythe (as he shall be known for the time being), and the bickering and banter between the two of them cracks me up every time. Vicky, of course, gets herself into frequent trouble; for all her intelligence, she's a bit lacking in common sense at times. And the plot and characters are kind of way over the top--Helena and Pietro really are delightfully nuts and I kind of love the Caesar bits. I just can't help but adore the ridiculousness of it all, which is why I keep reading these things over and over and over again. :)
