** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed this book. It was a mostly solid continuation of Atumn. In some ways it felt like it was rehashing earlier events. This book opens with a new group of survivors who experience the disease striking everyone down, then the rise of the dead. As in the first book they're isolated at first but eventually consolidate in one place. There were enough new characters introduced that I sometimes had a hard time remember who was who.

About halfway through the book the survivors from the first book are reintroduced and we're caught up on what they've been doing since the end of the last book.

The added element this time is the the existence of an underground army base which the survivors are trying to reach.

The zombies seem to be at the same point in their evolution as they were at the end of the first book so it feels like that part of the plot didn't really advance.
