it was amazing

What a wonderful book. I liked it even more than Plainsong; possibly because I enjoyed following-up on some of the characters. The McPheron brothers just grabbed at my heart. These two old men were so endearing.

The introduction of new families and characters in Eventide showed us the good, the bad and the ugly. Haruf's strong characterizations and depiction of family drama is very realistic. Despite tragedy and personal traumas a feeling of hope and romance pervaded the story.

I liked the meandering pace of this novel. It was a leisurely read and I would love to see these characters again in another novel.
