really liked it

A real page-turner. Barbara Vine, aka Ruth Rendell, is a master of intertwining stories, and this one does not disappoint. There's not a single plot hole or unanswered question in this book. There's some foreshadowing to the ending, but there are still some surprises. My only complaint is that the narrators change without warning (would have been nice to have a different font or other indication); also, the first couple of chapters are a bit confusing since there are a lot of characters thrown at the reader. But it's definitely worth sticking with. I look forward to reading more novels by Vine/Rendell.
