it was amazing
bookshelves: youngadult, futuristic, dystopian, favourites

I'm sure you've heard a million people gushing about The Hunger Games, yes? It's everything they say - fast paced, incredibly exciting, Lord of the Flies meets reality TV, and really amazing teenage characters.

Short summary of the plot - Katniss volunteers to take her sister's place in the Hunger Games, an annual event where a group of teenagers are placed in an arena to kill and be killed until one remains. It sounds completely over the top, I know. But it's utterly believable and utterly enthralling. The whole complicated relationship between Peeta and Katniss is so wonderfully developed and dealt so well with at the end. I mean, I want a sequel right right now, but I still felt the ending was just right for the story and the characters. Love, love, love.
