really liked it
bookshelves: sci-fi

This is the second Vonnegut book I've read. I enjoyed it for its underlying social commentary. I like the plot overall since it's focused on what would happen if society were to have gone in a particular direction. Some of the things that happen, such as classifying people based on IQ, are quite creepy. It follows a similar vein to Huxley's Brave New World, minus the bit about genetic engineering. I think part of what made it so good for me is that it moved so quickly, and is short enough to read in an evening or two (depending on how quickly you read).
