Another "Canadian" story!!

Fourteen year old Kit Pitman lives in Haire's Hollow, Newfoundland. Kit and her mother Josie are cared for by Gramma Lizzie as Josie is mentally handicapped. Lizzie suddenly dies and Kit is left to survive alone with her mentally deficient Mom. My heart ached for Kit and the tragedy she had to endure in order to survive and conquer!!

Wonderful read, gripped me from the very beginning.
