I'm listening to the audiobook right now and honestly cannot wait to get back into my car to hear the rest (disc 11 of 13, so close!)! I'm usually not a fan of audiobooks, but the narrator, Simon Vance, is amazing. I just put a request in for 'Girl Who Played with Fire'.
I don't normally read mysteries, but this book has been flying off the shelf at work, and if Felicia from Goodreads gives it so much kudos, than it may be worth a look! Of course, I tried applying this reasoning with a co-worker and it went something like this:Me: "I think I'm going to read 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. Felicia Day was raving about it on Goodreads."
Co-worker: "Who?"
Me: "Penny from Doctor Horrible?"
Co-worker: "Oh... wasn't she the band geek from American Pie?"
Me: "No..."
Co-worker: "So why is she giving you book recommendations? You know this chick?"
Me: (raising my finger, as if to state an affirmative, but, instead, I lower my head shamefully) "No... um, well, not really, um, she's just, um, a talented actress, and she's on my Goodreads, and she reads a lot."
(Awkward silence)
Co-worker: "Yeah... here's a book recommendation: How to get a Girlfriend for Dummies."
I just finished this book a little bit ago and really liked it as well. I thought the characters were all well done and very interesting.
I've had this for a bit and looking MORE forward (bad English) to reading it not that I saw you liked it so much. I keep thinking I should pick up a copy for my niece but maybe it's too adult? I guess I'll just have to read it and find out. Super thumbs up!
I've read all three volumes within one week. I actually think it gets better with the second part of the story, the whole thing was one of the best and most interesting storylines I have read for a long while. I just watched the first movie, and think it was quite a good adaptation of the book.
Great, great book. Simply a must read for mystery lovers. Second in the series, The Girl Who Played With Fire, is also well written, with a huge cliffhanger before The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, which hasn't been released in the US yet. :/I'm definitely going to have to see if there are English subtitles on the Swedish movie. I'd love to see how they adapted it for the screen.
So, I finally got around to reading this book, and it was almost entirely due to your glowing recommendation! I have to say, it was pretty stellar! I fell in love with Lisbeth Salander's character as soon as she was introduced and found myself mildly annoyed when she wasn't featured in a chapter. The story was very compelling as well, and certainly went in a direction I didn't expect. Thanks for turning me onto this book!BTW> I'm definitely excited to see how David Fincher adapts this book onto the big screen. I'm aware of the Swedish movie, and want to see that as well, but Fincher will rock it!
I agree. The story so well written and it keeps you in the edge if your seat as well . One the best thriller suspense books I read

Hope you enjoy it!
