I expected an easy, fun read - which I certainly got - but ended up loving this book for going much deeper than I'd anticipated. The author perfectly captured Anna's ambivalence over trying to figure out how to move on. I was carried along with Anna's giddiness over pushing the parental boundaries to try to support Frankie and torn with her over how to handle her best friend's pain. Ockler really captures teenage girl headspace - though it resonated with my supposedly-grown-up self too. When I was supposed to give this ARC back to get passed on, I wasn't able to give it up yet. Soon. (Maybe.)

Lucy I just got this ARC in the mail. With this review, maybe I'll give it a read sooner than later!
