In this volume #3, the pace really picks up. It's one thing to intellectually know how much of the Middle East feels about the United States. It's often called the Great Satan. But this book gets into the emotional motivations of leading middle eastern characters who want nothing more than to overthrow the US. The history of Persia (Iran) is very interesting. I'm amused by the premortal names of people---Elizabeth is born in Iran and becomes Azadeh (which must be Persian for Elizabeth) and Luke, Ammon, and Sam keep the same names as their pre-existence characters. The descriptions of the planes and helicopters is a little too detailed for me sometimes.
