really liked it
bookshelves: kid-stuff, staff-book-chats, non-fiction

Ann Heinrichs has written an entire series of books like this one, each is based on a different state. The book's layout is interesting and isn't too terribly text-heavy, making it very visually appealling. Heinrichs imagines a family going on a cross-country trip, making stops in each state. She picks out well-known landmarks in Wyoming, such as Yellowstone National Park, the state capital in Cheyenne, and Cheyenne Frontier Days, but she also highlights lesser-known places like Star Valley Cheese factory in Thayne and Eastern Shoshone Indian Days. Lots of bright graphics and photos coupled with interesting facts made this a real page-turner! And, actually made Wyoming sound like an interesting place to visit!
