Indie Brown returns to her childhood home to get it ready for her mother's return after being hospitalized because of being poisoned probably by herself. Memories come back to Indy of seeing her sister, Lily, and her many hospitalizations and she realizes that Lily and her mother are now doing the same thing to her daughter, Violet. She knows the only thing to do is to get Violet away from Lily. Munchausen Syndrome by proxy was not a disorder at the time Indie and Lily were growing up.

I did not like this book as well as Greenwood's "Two Rivers" which I read first.
