it was amazing
bookshelves: new-faves
Read in April, 2009

** spoiler alert ** just finished this book literally minutes ago. i absolutely loved it. it was the sort of book you fall asleep reading, far into the night, long after you should have been asleep. it reminded me a lot of paul auster, especially book of illusions. very literary mystery, with reference to borges and philip larken (a poet i have not read). james purdew, the main character, goes through alternate realities, pseudonyms, shifting narratives and possible insanity in a quest to remember three missing years of his life. the ending was truly shocking, i am still trying to piece it together. i only regret its not the kind of book you can read more than once.

Kerri YAY!!! I'm glad you liked this book, too! And when we read Book of Illusions here at ML, I also recommended this book. It was very different. :-)
