it was amazing
bookshelves: read-again
Read from November 12 to 14, 2014 , read count: 4

Much like "The Tarnished Angel", this is a multi-issue story... but where "Tarnished Angel" took on noir & gangster comics, "Dark Age" is a full-on epic sweep exploration of Astro City, the malaise of the 1970's, and a sly nod to Crisis on Infinite Earths, the death of Captain America, and a whole lot of other stuff.

In fact, that's really my only fear with the Astro City books - I wonder if you have to be a comics fan to appreciate the full texture of what Kurt Busiek & the various artists are doing with this amazing world.

UPDATE: The book holds up really well on a fourth read-through... a brilliant piece of writing/graphic novel creation.
