Screamfree Parenting is not the typical instant answer child behavioral book. It's more of a general approach to human interaction applied specifically to kids. This book seeks to help parents and caregivers better understand why screaming occurs and keeps occurring and how changes in personal approach can modify that behavior. The author's writing style is conversational without being fluffy or attempting to sell you some gimmick. The book could have been made better by adding a few more of the anecdotes and giving younger children a bit more attention. For teens and tweeners, the material is well-covered.
