liked it

I have 'The Portable Graham Greene' on my bookshelf, but hadn't read any of the novels in it. Just the essays. Loved 'The Third Man' movie, and had high hopes for the book, but even Greene knew it didn't match up.
Just as well, because he knew it couldn't. Said as much in his intro.
What's missing most is the atmosphere. Sure, it's dark and grimy, but it doesn't have the same look and war-torn mess of the film. I missed that.
