really liked it
Recommended for: People who want to take the scenic route to understanding Grand Unification Theory
Read in January, 1997

The pleasure in reading Winterson is in the way she tells her story. It sometimes surprises me she didn't wind up a poet. Actually I learned nothing about Grand Unification Theory - the science bits didn't interest me (I'm the same when Star trek goes all technobabble on me) - but the personal story did.

I heard Winterson read a chunk from the chapter entitled 'The Fool' - it reads well out loud, always a good measure of the quality of any writing.
